Power Hatha Yoga

This fun and challenging class will build balance, strength and endurance. It begins with a Pranayama exercise, warm up series, standing asanas including Surya Namaskar, a cool down mat sequence, savasana and finally 3 Om’s to complete the practice. Cues are provided to safely flow in and out of the asanas while offering a quiet space to check in with your body, focus your drishtis and observe your thoughts. You will be encouraged to play with the pose, challenge your own limitations and have self inquiry about what feels best for you in the moment.

You’re going to be a little sweaty during class and, if new to Hatha Power Flow Yoga, a little sore afterwards as you develop the ability to articulate your own body. As you leave your mat you’ll be feeling centred, confident and energized taking this calmness with you for the rest of your day.

Slow Flow Hatha
Hatha, meaning sun (ha) and moon (tha) aims to balance and honor the masculine (power, hot, sun) and the feminine (intuitive, cool, moon) in each of us uniting our opposite aspects. Connecting movement to breath in this lovely slow paced, gentle hatha yoga class gives you time to sink into the postures allowing full integration of the practice. With ample time to breathe deeply and move mindfully the beginner through to the advanced practitioner will enjoy the benefits of vinyasa without the pressure and speed of a faster class. This class will present an inviting opportunity to open the muscles, breath and mind to the intention behind the movement. There will be longer holds within the complete and through class ending with a juicy savasana to close the class.
