The Feel Good Yoga Theory Manual covering the philosophical, spiritual, and historical aspects of the yogic theory.
The Feel Good Yoga Posture Manual covers 65 of the most popular yoga postures. Each posture is covered comprehensively including all modifications and variations which allow you to teach each posture in such a variety of ways that your classes will be marvelously diverse and creative. These manuals provide a comprehensive reference guide for yoga teacher trainees on all aspects of the theory and poses. Teacher training graduates often tell us how useful the manuals are to them in class planning during the Yoga Teacher Training program and throughout their career as a Yoga Instructor.
The anatomy text is, Anatomy of Yoga: An Instructor’s Inside Guide to Improving Your Poses, this book is to be purchased separately and is not available through the studio.
This designation is required to become a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). This Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training approved program will allow you to teach in a wider variety of settings than the BCRPA Yoga Fitness Leader certification.
Through this program, you will learn everything you need to deliver safe, enjoyable and inspirational classes. Learn basic ayurvedic breakdown and proper alignment for the most popular yoga poses as well as creative choreography, energy enhancements, hands-on adjustments and the ability to accommodate people in your classes with common injuries and illnesses.
You will learn to teach hatha and hatha flow classes. These are the most recognizable and popular styles of yoga taught here in the West. Almost all franchises such as Iyengar, Bikram’s and Anusara are all forms of hatha yoga. You will also have the benefit of learning from a wide variety of guest instructors who teach different styles of yoga within their area of expertise. This will give you a wide breadth of knowledge and allow you to move into a niche that is best suited to your skills.
The Feel Good Yoga Teacher Training program is Yoga Alliance approved and internationally recognized. This is the only program in Victoria that incorporates the BCRPA Yoga Fitness Leader program into the level 1 program, giving you the highest credentials and the widest variety of registration and teaching options.
This course places an extra emphasis on teaching students how to teach a class that is fun, popular and safe. You will learn all about common injuries and illnesses, hands-on adjustments, and creative class choreography. This will contribute greatly to your ultimate success as a yoga instructor. You will also receive a solid foundation in yoga theory covering topics such as subtle yogic anatomy (koshas, chakras, doshas, prana vayus, etc.), History of Yoga, Patanjali Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga for kids, Business of Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Teaching Methodology.
Teaching principles such as class set up, intonation, principles of instruction, demonstration, observation, pacing, and sequencing are taught with such a spirit of fun and clarity that you will be able to deliver your final Yoga Teacher Training certification class with joy and ease!
You will learn the following ayurvedic and alignment principles about each yoga posture (asana):
- How to cue for the different koshas (Sanskrit for layers of our being)
- Name of the pose and pronunciation in Sanskrit and translation
- Chakras activated in the pose
- Prana vayus activated in the pose
- Modifications for the doshas
- Variations for each pose
- Benefits of each pose
- Contraindications for each pose
- Anatomy for each pose
- Adjustments for each pose
You will also learn over 40 pranayama techniques, over 70 meditation techniques, how to teach the bandhas (yoga locks), the eight limbs of yoga, the history, philosophy, and ethics of yoga, lesson planning and much more. Music and mantras are explored allowing you to add more flair, fun, and creativity to your classes.
By taking part in the Feel Good Program you have the opportunity to observe and participate in an unlimited number of yoga classes at the studio during your training. This is just one of many advantages to taking part in a teacher training program in a studio setting. As a final aspect of your practicum, you will teach a class to your fellow teacher trainees. A Feel Good teacher trainer will observe your teaching and provide you with written feedback. This is your practical exam.
